Acts of Faith
A world premiere of Acts of Faith by Kathleen B. Jones, from The Collected Stories of Grace Paley follows the life of Faith, from the ages of twenty to fifty. Our hero is passionate, witty, and initially naïve. Compelled to write, as she lives her most intimate relationships, Faiths life becomes a vivid portrait of the ever shifting dynamics of sexual and political power between men, women, friends and family in late 20th century America. Faith is like the fulcrum of a seesaw trying to balance creativity with motherhood, love with independence. And yet freedom from old roles and rules also brings a searing loneliness as Faith begins to notice shes like a ghost in a world that no longer recognizes her. Nine of Grace Paleys award-winning stories have been adapted for the stage by Kathleen B. Jones in collaboration with Sharyn C. Blumenthal and Directed by Sharyn C. Blumenthal.
